American singer, actor and filmmaker Jason Gould was BOTD in 1966. Born in New York City, the only child of singer-actress Barbra Streisand and actor Elliott Gould, his parents separated when he was three. Famous even before he was born — the press called him “The Million Dollar Baby” when Streisand’s pregnancy forced her to cancel a lucrative concert engagement in Las Vegas — he grew up in the glare of public exposure. He appeared in his first film as a child actor in 1972’s Up the Sandbox, and as an adult had roles in Say Anything, The Prince of Tides (directed by Streisand) and Subterfuge. After being outed as gay by tabloid newspapers in 1991, he wrote, directed, and produced the gay-themed short film Inside Out, based on his experiences. He has released two EPs, and a full length album Dangerous Man. He appeared as a guest vocalist on Streisand’s 2014 album Partners, and performs regularly with her in concert tours. Openly gay since forever, he has spoken publicly about his HIV diagnosis, and his parents’ initial difficulty in accepting his sexuality and his mother’s status as a gay icon. Gould lives in New York City with his long-term partner David.
