American actor Ezra Miller was BOTD in 1992. Born in Wyckoff, New Jersey, he trained as a singer to correct a speech impediment, and performed as a teenager with the New York Met Opera. At 16, they starred in indie film Afterschool, leaving high school afterwards to pursue an acting career. They achieved international recognition as a remorseless teenaged killer in the 2011 film We Need to Talk About Kevin, co-starring with Tilda Swinton. His other work includes the TV series Californication, the young adult film The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the comic book franchise Justice League and the Harry Potter prequel film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Miller identifies as queer and non-binary, and briefly dated actress Zoë Kravitz in 2010. In 2016, they began a relationship with 12 year-old Tokata Iron Eyes. After several years of litigation, Iron Eyes’ parents obtained a protection order against Miller on their daughter’s behalf in 2022. Months later, Miller was ordered not to harass a mother and her 12 year-old child in Massachusetts, after Miller claimed the child was a powerful “mystical being” and offered to buy them a horse. Miller later issued a statement apologising for their past behaviour and stating they are receiving mental health treatment. Miller has also been arrested and cautioned for various incidents of assault, burglary and drug possession. In 2025, they announced their return to acting in a vampire horror film, to be made by Kevin director Lynne Ramsay.
