Canadian athlete Quinn was BOTD in 1995. Born in Toronto, they were assigned female at birth. They showed an early interest in sport, becoming a star athlete in high school and playing competitive soccer at Havergal College and Duke University. In 2021, they became the first trans and non-binary athlete to compete in and win medals at an Olympic Games, winning a gold medal as a member of the Canadian women’s soccer team at the Tokyo Olympics. Quinn now plays for the Northern Super League team Vancouver Rise Football Club. They also joined the Canadian soccer team in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. A prominent spokesperson for trans rights, they have criticised journalists for continuing to use their birth name and not using gender-neutral pronouns. Their current relationship status is unknown.
